Life Is A Game
It was the season of summer sun
With daylight enjoyed by everyone
It was a chance to run and play
And enjoy all our vacation days
We competed regularly at basketball
With the best player the one with the ball
And outplaying all the larger guys
With his dynamic scoring drives
When the game was through
We rode our bikes in the afternoon
To a friend’s house to spend the night
With others there and pillow fights
School always started again
For our little group of summer friends
And we wrote about summer vacation
With no required memorization
We played hard every day
And came to study as well as we played
Each of us now wanting to succeed
Whether playing ball or at chemistry
And drive was always the key
And we learned in school we could achieve
When we used our competitive side
To achieve goals challenging and high
