Blackened landscape, on a cool wet night
Tops of trees are the moon’s delight
Scent of pine and misty forest floor
Stars like I’ve never seen before
What was it that this eve had to offer
As the moon knelt down to the lake at the altar
The wild bowed in the sight of God
Worshipping Him for its existence
Owls and crickets’ songs applaud
As they dwelt among the fog in the distance
Friends share their woeful tales
Singing tunes of praise and admire
Walking along sky-lit trails
And sitting by an open fire
Even in the cold of the night,
Hearts are being warmed
Inspiration from a wilderness sight
Causes souls to be transformed
Dazzled with the beauty all around
Stopped stark, paused in the moment
I quiet my being so from me not a sound
Could ruin this image of God’s atonement

Leya, your poem makes us all reflect on the serenity one experiences from nature, and that is a gift from God. I loved your poem and it certainly has transformed my soul. Thanks for posting this well-written tribute to our LORD and Savior. 🙂
I am so glad that you read it. Much appreciated! Yes, God is spectacular and deserves all the credit for the beautiful, spiritual experiences we have on this earth.
Beautiful words that describe the way God shows you his creations for us.
The Creation is a wonder to behold and your words have shown it to us.
