BUTTERFLY

Melissa Daly

One day her heart will stop longing for you.
And on that day she will break through,
like a butterfly emerging from its caccoon,
ready to spread her wings,
and flourish into something beautiful.

She’ll glide

and fly,

and never look

back.

Escaping from a trapped soul is glorious.

A broken heart takes a long time to mend. Inner beauty can be so damaged by a cruel world.
I would love to read a sequel where she dances in lifes splendour and lights us with her smile.
    Sad but beautiful read.
Please have a look at my mention of butterflies in my piece 'silent night'.
