You will live on beside me.

EliDagger

I saw you.
Right before me.
As you were being lowered into the cold, dark ground.
I felt you.
Right next to me.
Squeezing my hand as tight as you could get.

My soul and yours was together, the bond so strong, has been shattered as you drifted off from this world to the next.

But I believe.

I believe that every second of my life will be lived with you beside me. I won't forget, I will live. For you, every part of you.

Your poem is so filled with dark sentiment. The loss of a loved one is difficult, but you made the point abundantly clear to the reader.

I enjoyed it and thanks for posting. 🙂

A lament which only those know who have loved much and lost to death - - - your words echo grief yet propose the belief that life and love can never die - - - I can relate to each line and thank you for sharing this emotive write with us.
