Ignorance is bliss yet she do it so well
The way she tie her hair back and go out in heels
Her people warn stay home but only her minds right
She tell him pick her up onna corner to the right
See shawty got brains as much as she got body
Parents want the best she just wanna be a thotty
They give her everything she need but she just wanna party
And the one who did the deed ... well let’s call him Rodney
So lost so lost in her new ways
Shorty stressed so pressed in her new stage
She don’t forget and reflect on the old days
White girl what she sniffs off the used page
Back to Rodney , yeah Rodney
He about a decade older
And the girl let’s call her diamond, her shoulder he reaching over
Pressuring her for sex, saying she got the best
Now she know it’s going wrong she feelin it in her chest
Now she regrets, getting in the car
Cus see when she said no Rodney was on hard
And when she fought back
Rodney start to chokin her
In a park pitch black
he wrapped a coat on her
And ain’t even look back
One week later from that day
I was walkin past a poster
What it say?
“Have you seen me” with her face
LOST

wow so incredible
Welcome LOLA ~ Thanks for your first poem ~ well penned and pulsating with Rhyme & Rhythm ! BUT a sad and oft repeated story. As Teens (We were all Teens once !) we long to break free from our own Family and both release & control our emotions ! We dress sharp and enter the Party Scene ~ hoping we'll be attractive ~ hoping to score. There is always a RODNEY for the GIRLS ~ There is always a THOTTY for the boys ~ we are both vulnerable BUT GIRLS just want to be LOVED ~ MEN always want MORE & MORE and they can turn violent if frustrated ! Often it ends in RAPE ~ sometimes in DEATH and often the MEAN doesnt look back ! Thanks for caring & sharing ~ My MUM taught me to always treat GIRLS with RESPECT & thank GOD I always have. Yours BRIAN Please check my site which I share with my FIANCEE ANGELA ~ OK !
