Butterfly Trip

Butterfly Trip

On the currents every fall

The butterfly flys along

Here and there and everywhere

As if to a song

Seeming so effortlessly

He lands on a flower

Searching for nectar does he

But it’s past the flower’s hour

And so in the breeze

He travels every day

Always flying with the wind

To Mexico to stay

There with many others

He stays for a spell

On vacation with one another

With the days warm and well

And when the time is right

He flys home again

In the days a welcomed sight

As the green of spring begins

Some butterflies travel such vast distances.

Yes, G. It's a miracle they find their way back home.

Lovely! And reminds me to be sad that mine are gone for the year!
