In The Wind

w c

In The Wind

Like a candle in the breeze

And the flight of falling leaves

I am moved by the wind

And the fall coming in

The swallows have all gone

And the night has grown long

With the first rutting deer

In the day with little fear

And woodpeckers fly

From wood to wood in windy skies

Undulating from tree to tree

Above a blanket of fallen leaves

And geese fly too

Ahead of the northers blue

With a tail wind to drive them on

Far from their summer homes

And when the wind is finally gone

It’s very close to the dawn

With the wind of yesterday

Gone south a hundred miles away

A fine write w c. Well, squirrels have not gone from a nearby wood here. There's even more of them!

Thanks, O. I really enjoy seeing squirrels play. They're always chasing each other around.
