Good Books

Good Books

A book is for reading

And I have many books

They have not made me smarter

But I don’t give ignorant looks

I often thirst for a crime drama

And paperbacks quench that thirst

And I read them daily

With me none the worse

With biographies I have read

I learn a life story

And I’m privileged to see

Those of fame and glory

And when I want to build a table

I checkout a carpentry book

And I know that I’m capable

With the pictures that they took

I leave room on my bookshelf

For an unabridged dictionary too

And find that it helps

With words I never knew

Yes, G. As the experts say, "reading is fundamental."

I love your words! As I love anyone who loves books! What would we be without them... I am magnifying the page to see the titles of the ones you keep!

Thanks, Lorna! Books are good food. They feed the minds of those that hunger.
