Salvation Stone

Tune: Thornbury

('Thy hand O God, has guided')

Psalm 118 v.19-29

********

Open me gates, [of] righteousness

I will go in them, bless

The LORD, these gates I enter

Will go, and not defer

I will praise the LORD, for He

Has heard me, answered, see

And is sure my salvation

Here joy and elation

The stone which the builders cast

Away, they thought [it] gone, past

Refused it and rejected

Yet is become the head

The head stone of the corner

Though men did count, confer

To view it worthless, but it be

Foundational stone, see

Thie be the LORD's doing, for

'Tis marvellous, 'tis  sure

This is the day the LORD made

In it His ways displayed

We will rejoice in it, be glad

Not be downcast, not sad

Save now, LORD, we do you beseech

Prosperity send each

God is the LORD, He has shown

us light, to us made known

You are our God, we praise you

And will exalt you too

O give thanks to the LORD, He

Is good, and e'er shall be

Merciful, and enduring

All praise Him, worship, sing
