The closer I got to her
The more erect my hair stood
Rippling waves of tingling
Coursing through my veins
The sensation counter intuitive
The fight or flight button off
The magnetism just pulling
My own fear dissipating
I reached my hand out
Not sure if I would be shocked, or glued
Contact was made, shots rang through me
A burst of lightning, but from the inside out
My grip getting tighter
Desiring more intensity
How much could my heart take?
Or was my heart the epicenter
- The source reciprocating its mate?

Trystan,
“Rippling waves of tingling
Coursing through my veins”
While reading these words, I remember clearly the indescribable sensation! You’ve threaded your words so brilliantly that you’ve succeeded to get this reader to easily remember such feelings! Incredible indeed!
I think your heart was the epicenter!
An excellent write! Thank you for sharing!

Laura,
Thank you for the comment! My writing is usually a little more ambiguous or cryptic - but this feeling - it was just too raw and real to not just state plainly. I love that you felt it! I hope everyone gets to feel this way at at least once in their life!
You’re welcome!
Yes, I hope so too!
It’s a feeling one never forgets...no matter how old we get! It stays buried within us until a poem such as yours comes along and resuscitates it...then a flood of memories take over for a while...until next time!
That feeling is so well portrayed in your words Trystan. It is a feeling that happens so rarely but is never forgotten.
