Everlasting Hold

Gino

Holding you high
amid the sound of birds,
and in that soar
I beheld your beauty
that met me in the sky

Your innocence
dazzled in the sunshine,
and gave me peace
beyond the world's unrest

I love you my son,
and thanks for being
an eternal part of my life

Thank you Laura my friend. My 2 boys are a joy to my heart, James 12 and Jon 6.

        You’re welcome!

I have two sons (heck of a lot older than yours) and this could have been written for either of them - super work.

        • Gino

Thank you so much Michael. I'm sure your sons mean a heck of a lot to you like mine do to me, haha.

They sure do - I'm just recovering from traumatic surgery and my youngest who lives nearby has been a brick supporting my wife. My oldest has been in India all week on business - flew home last night and this morning is driving from London to see me and has been in constant touch throughout. And then there's my wonderful daughter - I just consider myself so blessed.

Blessed indeed my friend you are. Our children are a blessing, despite the bads they can at times give us. Persevere with them, and you shall grow a happy old man.

Beautifully written, Gino and a tribute to your son.

I truly enjoyed this poem and don't ever stop writing. 🙂

Thank you so much Tamara. I wont stop.

Thanks for such a tender paternal tribute to well loved sons - it warmed my heart to read the expressions from a father who cares and is able to put into poetic words the love his heart feels. Thank you for sharing those beautiful moments with us.

              • Gino

Thank you Fay for your kind and warm expression of youth, encapsulated in these little ones who keep me young and running after them...
