Relax?

The Retired Bloke

Why can’t I relax?

Stop my mind turning

Whirring with thoughts

Of disparate dimension

Why can’t I relax?

Stop feeling agitated

Buzzing in motion

A dire disposition

Why can’t I relax?

Stop my pulse racing

Chatter in my head

An irrational emotion

Why can’t I relax?

Take a deep breath

Nullify the negative

A positive inclination

  • Comment from author about the poem: The poor weather we are having at the moment is limiting time out of the house. I am not good at relaxing at home. Need to try harder!

A familiar feeling to many including myself -this need to get out and about - weather permitting - Just a thought though - - perhaps my post today may be of some help - I wrote of one way of seeing self differently - -have a peep at the verse called Understanding and let me know what you think - - - thanks for your honest posting.

Well, maybe go out bit later in the day? Though days are getting shorter, it starts getting lighter again in a month's time!

There are ways of getting lost when in the home, I can easily get lost in music or a book and the time just flies.
