We must all take our turn
Of losing those we love.
None of us escape
The pain and hurt inside.
Young or old, we face it.
There is nowhere to hide.
Yesterday was another's turn,
Today is sadly ours.
Tomorrow someone else will face
The agony of these hours,
But we must think of life ahead
And wipe away the tear.
The ones who've gone
Are with their own,
While others we love
Are here.

- Comment from author about the poem: I've signed up today in an attempt to share the words of my Grandma. I've recently learned that she was, in fact, a wonderfully poetic soul and all of her best thoughts and feelings never made it further than the notepad she kept on her bedside table. Sadly, this wonderful woman died last week I'm hoping to create something better for her. Some corner of the Internet she can occupy and let her memory stay as vibrant and beautiful as she was. WELCOME TO MPS FRIEND : It is an empathetic site ideal for a Poet with your EMPATHY ! Im 30 and share this site with my Fiance Brian (35) so we have both have had experiences of Loved ones who have gone before us. It is equally hard to bear irrespective of the Age of the Loved One who have passed over. The Demise of one's Grandparents is very hard to bear. Thanks for sharing your Grannies Ode we look forward to more.
Yours through Poetry : ANGELA (UK but presently in New Zealand on a work exchange until September 2019) MPS works by reading (and commenting on : each others Poetry)
