A Simple Tribute

Syd

Gedesoned sentences cover my floor

They are the forgotten

The fallen

The heroes of war

They are the frozen leaves

The decaying disease

They are often overlooked...

Frozen In time

Forged like steel in rhyme

Where embers once burned

They are soot

Battalions of syllables

Forgotten miracles

How they crunch underfoot...

Now reanimated

In future time

They are the monster

Of Dr. Frankenstein

Stitched up at the seams

From part memory

Part dream

A simple tribute

To what might have been....

I think we all have those words showing 'what might have been'.

Indeed we do Goldfinch, not just in poems either. It's important to be content with what you have I think.

Woww such awesome muse, brilliant word choice and your muse gathered well, from forgotten pages it seems. This is one of your most creative masterpieces I must say. It really leaves my poetic heart in awe. Kudos.
