Is this dream made of darkest sin?
A fight, a plight noone will win
A push, a pull, a tug of heart
Everything. Nothing. Pieces. Apart.
Oh how I wish your eyes could feel
Touch my soul and softly heal
But your eyes were blinded by my fire
The day we lit unknown desire
The day you followed me through my dreams
The nights you dwelled in our painted scenes
The days when we were mad with love
Finally resting descended above
Above the lying and cheating of life
The sleepwalking days and everyday strife
Out beyond existence of everday sin
Where daydreaming lingers and belonging begins
We lied and we cheated amidst liars and cheats
In their Kingdom banished to sinners' defeat
Now as I reach from my chains of deceit
You can barely whisper as I linger and creep
Oh how I wish your eyes could feel
Touch my soul and softly heal
But your eyes were blinded by my fire
The day we lit unknown desire
The day you showed me a place I knew
A place I could belong with you
Where liars and cheaters became beauty and truth
As winds welcomed and sins away blew
We lied and we cheated amidst liars and cheats
In their Kingdom banished to sinners' defeat
Now as I reach from my chains of deceit
You can barely whisper as I linger and creep
I creep because that's all a liar and cheater can do
To sneak from a place she can never be true
To hide as she lives in a place far from home
Lying because she can never be known
Creeping and sneaking and hoping you see
That as I end my days, truth and beauty I'll be
Beautiful truth can exist in me
I still believe it exists in we

Fine work Sylvia.
Thanks for getting to the end...
It is one of those endless ones!
Sylvia,
A fine ode indeed! The imagery your words conjure up in my mindās eye are exceptional! Only a gifted writer can accomplish such a feat...and you have done it! You are an amazing writer!
I enjoyed the poem in its entirety...especially the ending...

Thanks Laura. What a kind thing to say about my writing. I feel a little less disconnection from everything when others hear my words and say kind things š
Youāre welcome, Sylvia!
Sometimes I wonder if I truly get the messages being conveyed...but itās okay because I enjoy reading them and I admire the poets who write them!
