Foolish

edwinknox

Foolishly I grab at the rose

Infatuated with its beauty

Captivated by its presence

Foolishly I grabbed at the rose

Only to have my wrists

Sliced open by hidden thorns

Foolishly I will grab at the rose

Never learning my lesson

Until my veins run dry

  • Comment from author about the poem: It has been a while since I posted, but I am glad to be back. Definitely in a different place in life than I was when I first started, but my love for poetry has stayed true. This one is something I wrote a long time ago, enjoy :)
