Maybe

Brittany Jo

they tell us we’re just sad

“it’s just a phase, and it will pass”

if they felt these feelings we’ve had,

Maybe they wouldn’t be so crass

They tell us we’re suppose to feel this way

“It’s normal when you’re young”

If they could be in our head for just a day

maybe they’d realize they are wrong

They excuse our pain, “it’s your age, nothing more”

so over time we accept our misery

If we received the help we must quietly long for

I can’t be for sure, but maybe...

All it needs is somebody to listen to you, if you can find a true listener to whom you can tell your troubles those troubles will become lighter. The other way of course is to write them down either just for yourself or for others to read - it always helps.
