Luke 2 v.1-7

A bright light shines o'er all the land
Appointed by the Lord's good hand (Spirit)
Come see in Bethlehem, new-born
The Son of God, redemption's morn
Chorus
Spread the gospel news all around
Salvation in Jesus is found
All went to be taxed, registered
In their own town, decree was heard
So Joseph went from Galilee
With Mary, great with child was she - Chorus
They left Nazareth, and journeyed
South unto Bethlehem, they sure did
For Joseph was of David's line
Their travels not all cosy, fine - Chorus
While in Bethlehem, came the time
According to human life's rhymes
That Mary she should her babe bear
And be delivered then and there - Chorus
O humble scene, her firstborn son
She did bring forth, her labour done
And in swaddling clothes Him did wrap
In manger laid, this was their hap - Chorus
A manger, animal food trough
Fro them, had to suffice enough
No room for them within the inn
Their choices there meagre and thin - Chorus
Yet creation the joys do share
Even animals gathered there
In stable sparse, Jesus the Son
Of God, a Light for everyone - Chorus
