Providing Promise

Tune: Malvern

(one tune to: 'Jesus, where'er thy people meet')

Genesis Chapter 22 part & John 3 v.16

*********

'Jehovah Jireh', 'tis the Lord

It was according to His word

When it did come, Abraham test

To offer up to Him the best

Even his son Isaac to be

A burnt offering to God, see

E'en if we can it scarce believe

This was His word with no deceive

Then when Abraham did obey

The Lord He did restrain and say

Offer your son not, know I know

You do obey me, it be so

And then a ram offered instead

In that place true it sure was said

Jehovah Jireh, the Lord will

Provide and make a way through still

He will see to things, sort them out

And be faithful beyond a doubt

Now we, us of New Covenant

Believe in His Son who He sent

Jesus, the Son of God He be

God does provide for you and me

An offering and sacrifice

Jesus for our sins pays the price

We loved, forgiven, and set free

And given life eternally

Grant faith to trust your provision

You look on us, forget not one

Thanks Gold. The Old Testament story here can make us think of others in the 'same boat' or a similar boat, to those having 'problems', I think. Here's a massive 'problem' for Abraham!
