Would You still be Mine

gerrylegister

Would you still be mine?

Remembering me for a little time,

Transformed by the world we once owned

To a future realm.

Would you still be mine?

Even just for a minute; if heaven sends an angel

Tonight, to take the strength that was lent.

would you still be mine?

When pleasure and joy come to the end

And peace is the only serenity remain.

Would you still mine? By the divine

When the rustling winds seemed so unkind

By the fears of worlds to be found

And I have failed and become too frail to stir

Emotions through a single tear.

Would you still be mine?

When time browse and blow through the mind

Thoughts which will be hard to follow

If I step from the light into the dark

Leaving only the blur images of sorrow.

Would you still be mine, gleaming from the star?

Even though you can’t be far

from the vacant stare seen in the storm

only angels nearby can hear the chatter

from the voice taking on a new form.

Beautiful poem with the wonderful Miles playing - who could ask for more.
