They lost her.

They fought and argued.

He hit,

She cried,

But it got too bad.

Too loud

Too much

It ended.

 

And in it all,

They lost the thing that kept them together,

They lost the girl that brought them joy,

That stopped the violence,

That stopped the shouts,

 

But she's gone,

Her cuts went unseen

Unnoticed.

Her scars went unhealed,

Uncared for.

And she went afraid,

and Unloved.

 

They lost her,

In the preoccupation of their minds 

 

They lost her...
