Spiritual Humanity.

Goldfinch60

In life we are taught,

Taught that being a good person

Will lead us to a Spiritual Existence.

We try to better ourselves through life

As we aim for that Spiritual goodness,

But what we forget

Is that Our Spirit is always with us.

So should we look at a different way,

Use that Spirituality within us,

To become Human?

Indeed so! A fine write Gold. A really important point, I think. Otherwise (the Christian view, or Protestant emphasis) we are trying to earn and gain our own salvation. It can't be done.
It's like a bridge illustration - if no bridge, we may even get 99% across a gap by our great good deeds, but we still fall in the ravine.

Thank you Orchi, your words are very meaningful.

    • ANGELA & BRIAN

GOOD MORNING UNCLE ANDY : Love ELLA and this song : made me think of MY BRIAN ! Its 11pm TUESDAY here so a good song to go to bed with ! I agree with the sentiment in your Poem : we all have a Spirit within us which motivates us ! As committed Christians we are also indwelt by the Holy Spirit which empowers us to show Love : Joy : Peace and the the other six Fruit of the Spirit : this makes us truely HUMAN. In my JOB as a PHYSIOTERRORIST I need an abundance of TLC because all my Clients are hurting and I need a healing touch to restore their confidence & mobility ! Because I am filled with the Holy Spirit I am a much better PHYSIO. TLC is also a Fruit of the Spirit. The same is true of Brian as a Teacher & Student Councellor ~ AMEN !
Blessings & love to you BOTH :
      ANGELA 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡

That Spirit is always within us and we need to show others the wonder of it. Thank you for your comments Angela.
I do like the word PHYSIOTERRORIST, Joyce was a receptionist in the Physio Department of a hospital for 35 years and some of the physios were/are great friends some of them could terrorise anyone.

We are born human Goldfinch. Every instinct a bratty child exhibits is human instinct, human nature. We are taught about spiritual matters to 'improve' us. One of the great contradictions which western religious folk wont face up to is that we are supposed to be created in gods image... therefore our basic instincts are godly. Killing, robbing, raping, etc etc...
Why so many half baked contradictions in that bible? If created in that image why do we need commandments?
All religions teach 'follow me and do as i say' except Buddhism which shows ways to enlightenment without the need for any god.

        • Goldfinch60

Religion and "The Spirit" are not necessarily interlinked, religions want to go their own ways and use the image of "The Spirit" as a means to brainwash others who follow that religion.
I know that My Spirit is there, I have been touched by it (or is it that I am touched?) I agree with you about Buddhism, it shows a way to enlightenment from within yourself.

I like the way you said "I know that My Spirit is there, I have been touched by it" because i too have had this experience.

Nice write. Our spirits are the real deal, for we are eternal in them...

Thank you Gino, yes they are.
