Cry All Them Tears.

kevin browne

People think what they are and what they ain't
Sticks and stones broke some bones and faint.
Thought of this way, that way, this road and halt
Through and under a barbed wire barriers fault.

Stitched up, kicked in, robbed, stolen and dead
Knife wars. Heartaches with guns under the bed.
Downtown, Uptown, sidewalks with dark alleys
Police patrol control hopes shot down its knees.

Science fiction, horror movies, scary scenes in
TV, radio, Facebook, Instagram, Gmail had sins
Lost it, broke it, took it, and gave it to every one
Tear it, hear it, shout it, bloat it then start to run.

It being life it begins, it stops, it paused for a beat
Moonshine, Venus, Pluto, Mars and a Suns heat
Sharp glass, pub run, fighting with a broken pain
Dead still, is real. Graveyards, it hurt all the same.

Drowned it, found it, sized it then gave it all away
Walked to here if there's somewhere else to stay
Blame it, shame it, buy it, gain it together again
Who's won, who's gone when taking the blame.

Artey slice, not lovely, name a price to shoot more
Artillery, armoury, its battalions with more in store
Ship it, tank it, bomb it, sink it, fly it with the style
Blow it, grow it, breath it if it's a thousand miles.

People think they like this. but only if it ever fits
Life on hold, stories told about all the little bits
Changed hands are keen on losing all the loss
Dreaded skies dark and grey we'll give a toss.

Hardship, worth it, beat it then take it to the top
Show them, teach them, help them and don't stop
Raise them, give them, love them, our children here
Bless them. Church them, cry all them happy tears.
