Park Fun

Park Fun

We went down the slide

And had time to swing as well

In the park in summertime

When children could play a spell

The afternoon was a time

To see a birthday party

Where they let balloons go high

And enjoyed the day whole hearted

There was a merry-go-round

That made us a little dizzy

But the seesaw up and down

Stopped the world from spinning

Laughter we heard again

Coming from our kids

And we enjoyed the time we spent

Watching all they did

When park day was done

We returned to our homes

With a swing set once great fun

And a sandbox now out grown

What a sweet little poem about children in their prime as they slide and sway the day away. I'm glad you wrote this, and has cheered me up because the kids are worth every minute of ir.

Thanks, Kevin. Growing up, I was lucky to have a park nearby. There was a swimming pool and several baseball fields, in addition to slides and swings!

I used to swing so high that once I turned over the entire swing set (which wasn't anchored very well).... gosh it was fun.

lol I know the swing of which you speak! Thankfully, the park swings were well anchored.

Halcyon days, where did all that energy go to? The magic of so many first time evers, adventures which were real.

            • w c

Yes, dusk. At some point we had to accept that our kids had the energy, and we did well in letting them play with parents on the sideline.
