Posturing

Jabberwocky

Oh worthless creature;
Heart of stone.
I hope you live
To die alone.
With none to wipe
Away your drool,
With fevered brow
And running stool.
I hope our kids
abandon you,
Return the favour
you are due,
To reap the harvest
you have sown
And meet your end,
In shame, forlorn.

(The battery dead
On your mobile phone)

Except.... if you should
Look at me
As you looked once before
My foolish heart might love thee
Again for ever more.

Oh Jabber this is so funny and sad at the same time........ Poor guy....... but you do paint revenge so well! Actually it sounds like one of the kids thinking up the awful punishments...... oh well, you'll go on loving her till you die.......

    • Jabberwocky

      Yeah. Damn my stubborn heart!
Still.... at least I no longer have to watch reality TV.

      • Lorna

Well that's a blessing.......... nothing could be worse - not even heartbreak.

The sentiments underlying these words touch the heart when last lines suddenly get to the core of what love is about --- I love this read and into my faves it goes.

This became a very emotive write at the end, the love is obviously never completely died.
