There is an outlaw that lives inside us all
The moral compass that won't be fooled
For we can make up these endless rules
No one other than us makes it enforceable
As I walk pass a white van I see its all true
I'm not the only one fed up with this tool
I've never agreed and neither did you
To be treated like we're immature fools
Holding back information never to be seen
Making class separation by printing the Queen
Just take a look on a fifty pound note
You will see there power is no joke
A cog on this wheel I gladly was once
Now I march to the beat of my own drum
Where we end corruption, war and poverty
Remembering we all have the right to be
Like the trees sun moon and stars
Unwritten laws were given long before us

- Comment from author about the poem: After seeing this the other day I could not help but write something for it! We all know it's a mess and we can only do what we can do to speak our own inner truth.

I love those last two lines. Im that rebel who lives within the rules but flouts them when i can get away with it.
Yes those rules were written by 'nature' long before a man tried out new ones, long before they invented religion to scare people into submission, long before we clothed ourselves with civilisation.
Hey i've got a huge white van. You've given me ideas with that picture.
That last line definitely had you in mind 😉
I found that seeing this van kept my sprite high, we all want to make the changes to have a better life!
I loved this, the last lines especially. great read 🙂 thanks for sharing it with us
Thank you glad there is a rebel to go with the psycho 😉
Super write Dan and so true, we should follow the ways within us that we know to be right.
The man in the was the one with the plan, glad you feel the same.
Doesn't matter what country - the mess is everywhere and I agree, we have to be rebels........
Right on sister, so no harm but take no crap.
Well written Dan, reminding us all of the power we posses!
Yes and thank you for seeing in me what's in you.
