ABANDONMENT.

Fay Slimm.

Abandonment.

Such a thing of beauty is a shell,
floating it croons, abode empty,
sculpted plate of vital protection
intriguingly patterned, expressly
designed, change has undressed
your mollusc-berthed residence.

Oh opaline coat, bejewelly vest
your sea-bed wholeness ended
now roof tumbles at measured
pace in ocean breakers' restless
dance with fate's abandonment.

Like tiny castles...... little memorials to the creatures that made them. Lovely words Fay.

Oh my, what a wonderful conjunction of words "tumbles at measured pace in ocean breakers' restless dance with fate's abandonment".
In sober moments on the beach i shall reflect upon those words.
