If in this soundless, lonely night
When the wind is chill
And the moon is bright,
We lie here in the dust
Vines are creeping ‘round our ankles
Tightening with unbidden lust,
And the inky sky above
Only knows our deepest secrets,
The firmament glints with sudden love.
And in your ambiguous eyes
Tentative feelings blossom
Like roiling clouds in milky skies...
We might raise trembling fingers
To the boundless vault of heaven
Where only crystal starlight lingers,
Inscribing our names in constellations,
Feeling all the new sensations
And releasing fevered imaginations.
