Serving The Homeless

Serving The Homeless

He finally learned how to live

And enjoy his little life

When he did what others did

And gave service work a try

His success has been great

When he serves the poor

And he has joy many days

When he opens shelter doors

He questions from time to time

Does he really matter

But he quickly gets in line

As the cold and hungry gather

He has many friends

As he gives of himself

And it’s the best it’s ever been

When they’re providing help

Sometimes he has to wait

For the good times to come again

And then his day turns great

As he feeds a homeless man

Yes service to those less fortunate is a way to show care dear W.C. - - a needed reminder that not all are in the same comfort and position in these troubled days. Thanks for this posting.

Thanks, Fay. It warms my heart to serve others. I have been the one served, too.
