With The Stroke of My Pen

Like the hands of a sculptor who seeks perfection
Or the painter whose brush draws an image on canvas
I create a new world with the stroke of my pen
I write what I see every chance I get.

My pen gives me power; I do what I want
I can change my life with a few simple words
I can go back in time if I so desire
Or swing the future in a matter of hours.

I could give my creations unlimited hope
I could give them all the love in the world
But all I could give them would not be enough
So I'll keep on writing until my work is done.

Last night I created a peaceful world
Today I will work on justice for all
Tomorrow is time for a better place
Where happiness lives in every child's face.

Don’t ever ignore the strength of these words
Your life may depend on my self-centered thoughts
I could change your life with a single stroke
But I promise to strive for a perfect world.
