Inside Me.
Substance of rock remembers its core.
Change comes slowly but granite recalls.
With unending patience boulder's vibrations
yield to year's grind of out-facing each storm.
There is rock inside me which apes stone.
Same cycles of stasis show mind's vital role.
By veering courageously toward perseverance
I shall gain more endurance and betrayal control.

A fine write Fay. Rocks reminded me, that some call me 'Fossil' - my middle name, cos I'm very old! heehee.
From your postings I see no old fossil my friend - - a huge thank you Orchi for your read and your comment
It's my own fault. I keep saying I'm very old; the 1066 annual reunion at Hastings for those who were there in person (??). heehee. Oh lol, a wife called her hubby a dinosaur cos he won't use e-mail!
Thanks trin for saving this piece as one of your faves. - much appreciated.
Though we can be shaken to the foundations by the unexpected actions of others, such occasions can reveal to us our true mettle. That central 'me' core which life has matured within. For a while we run in 'safe' mode don't we.
But the sun still shines, the trees remind us of passing seasons, and the joy of grandchildren light our eyes. Such beauties warm our core allowing it to melt safely. But it's ever there.
I think your words stirred something in me today.
Truly agree that actions or words can test our mettle D.A. - and that nature's survival can do much to warm hurt cores - - a perceptive comment for which I say a big thank you my friend.
How perfectly pinned to this page your words do appear...
I sense old hurt and a residual ache but like some phoenix, you are rose again and stronger for it.... Neville
Spot on with that outcome of closeted hurt Nev. - - daring to make core-rock from firing debris creates inner strength -- thanks for your caring perception and put so gently my friend - quite a while ago now but rising from ashes is what it felt like.
good to hear and glad to know.... always such a pleasure Fay x
What an ending. I can't help but cry, is this still my pain? I'll sit with this one, thank you and I truly appreciate where this may of came from. You are as we all should know a wonderful gift to the worlds vibration.
Life hardens us all. Better to be the rock and not the bug, Remember that gentle water flowing carved out the Grand Canyon. Sometimes we can lose the pain gently over a long time and still be strong enough. A great bit of imagery of strength of stone and the power of positive thinking.. Loved it. - Phil A.
The strength within us all is the foundation on which our lives are built. Good true write Fay.
I AM A ROCK : I AM AN ISLAND
Thanks for sharing FAY betrayal makes one
Hard as Rock and as isolated as an Island.
As Ladies we present a Soft and Gentle and
gregarious exterior : BUT : when betrayed our
inner (hard ?) core shows through and we
resist like the rest. HARD AS ROCK !
Thanks for sharing.
BRIAN will never betray me : and
I will never betray BRIAN AMEN !
