An Ode To...

Wrinkles hide
Innocence
Youth lived
Loves lost
Age couldn't hide her elegance
Posture accentuated her gracefulness
Softly Spoken, never to repeat her words
Touch so gentle, sensations deeply felt
Whether in simple garment or a gown
Decked in jewels or a strand of pearls
Proficient in many languages for sure
Exuding serenity thru and thru
Indifferent to status and standard
Company sought by both hi and low
Many a friend, and none if any foe
Reminisced by young and old
Moments together, all we needed
Like bashful children to the end
The sly smiles that lit our faces
None of these can ever be lost
We were not meant to be
Her eyes reflected, me to see
She is still holding my hand
As I hold her, in memory

Reads and sounds like an amazing character... an exemplary tribute and fine dedication for sure .... Neville
Thnx.
There were times when class was measured by ones character, not just ones wallet.
I suspect you are referring to a different kind of class
I would say that till about the end of sixties, those who grew up with OLD MONEY had a certain upbringing, a debonairish attributes, and then there were those that were recognized for their achievements. They were afforded memberships in clubs, whereas now the NEW MONEY buys itself any position but seriously lack the mannerisms worthy of being called " debonairish" or "classic".
so you are not referring to quality or good taste then, nor even the socio-cultural and clearly defined caste or class system that has variously evolved ever since man stood upright and congregated in groups.. okay, gotcha...
Beautiful write about a wonderful sounding lady.
Thnx. Now a memory.
That last line is one to remember for it sums up the precious moments you spent together -- such a lovely tribute Suresh - -
Thnx for coming by Fay.

Thnx
