Achieve The Summit

Achieve The Summit

When you’re depressed look up

And see your destiny

And know you have energy enough

To achieve it successfully

Stick to the path you’re given

And stray not from its way

And keep to your decision

To proceed on snowy days

Be confident as you strive

That you will reach your goal

And you will feel alive

With the summit close

And when you’ve made it there

Take time to celebrate

At the top of the stairs

In the middle of the day

At the mountain peak

Know you must come down

And do so carefully

With the confidence you’ve found

Such sound advice in these well-written and interesting lines W.C. - - I love the metaphor of achieving the top of a mountain peak and finding more confidence.

Thank you for your comment, Fay. My inspiration for this poem was Mt. Denali in Alaska. I went there on my honeymoon many years ago. My wife and i named our son, Denali.

Very good write. In our life we climb the mountain of experience every day and every steep we climb makes us more assured in our wonderful lives.

Each journey begins with a single step. And after we've reached our destination, we see how far we've come.

A fine write w c. I hate using 'down' escalators, if I can see the floor(s) below. If I use the 'up' ones, I've got to get down again somehow - stairs or lift, or else I'm stranded! And then I may not use lifts alone. If I'm gonna get stuck, so are those in the lift with me. Doh! lol.

Thank you, orchidee. I haven't given much thought to escalators, other than i enjoy riding them. I've taken many steps, though, and have reached some wonderful places that i did not necessarily foresee. .. .
