Daddy's Gone

Christina8

Day in and day out I pretend

that when you left it was the end

of hurt feelings and your lies

Wipe the pain from my eyes

You never were my Daddy

You didn't even try to be

No matter how old I get

Your words and deeds I can't forget

There were always things that were

more important, like drinking, for sure

So I thought the pain of you wouldn't last

When you moved away and became my past

Though my future is full of positivity,

I can't help but look back and ask what's wrong with me

Everything that dad said is so, so wrong

My love, my life, proves that I am strong.

Aw sad . Dads are human and thus imperfect. You wrote and expressed awesomely here. Kudos for the rhyming as well.

Plz comment my newest poem too, nice to read from u again.

some people when they are gone, and for whatever reason gone, leave larger than expected holes in the lives of would be loved ones..... this is a tender, yet anguished poem well writ.... Neville
