Haunted Town Of Ghosts.

kevin browne

Somewhere where I used to roam
in an old haunted town of ghosts.
Before an older roaming place like
this. men were jogging down notes.

600 years ago it wrote with a quill, a
man sat here, and his name was Tao.
His paper fades into a mysterious silt
which in a shape of an ageing fellow.

Mirrored illusions fall deep in reflection
of all the time it took for you to get there.
Now lost inside a box, locked in at that,
but that didn't stop an apparition in here.

Those windy streets blew a howling life
into some shadowing yellowing drought.
Footsteps stepped tip toe on squeaking
floorboards which are drowning in doubt.

Fields, and forests scream beside the old
Church cemetery full of skeletons in hope.
Waking midnight vampire steps out and if
he finds you he'll wrap you up in his cloak.

A tug on your bed at twelve past the hour
of every night the door opens up and ajar.
Inside your fright is the fright of your life is
when you ran for your life and didn't run far.

Now he's got you right where you said that
you would never go, and would die of fear.
But, you went back 600 years yourself, and
would of a ghost I thought who came so near.

The Oujie board spells your name on a card
and then spins a bottle round landing on you.
The light flickers, two bangs on the wall and
an apple will roll across the things you'll do.

Its goodnight, say your fears, say your prayers
for the dead are living in a world that's bright
Indecisive tendencies to go out or stay in this
scary horror show which starts again tonight.

    That show in the night
    Comes back in the dark
    But as night finishes
I am up with the lark.

May your night become full of light Kevin.
    Good write.

A fine write Kevin. I like the darker theme.

You're welcome. it's good to show the darker side sometimes.
