Envy

M.E.M.

You look on, only able to wish

A raging fire roars within you now

Clenching your fists, you hold back curses

What could possibly have happened to you?

Flame wrap around you, you hurt yourself

Wanting to match beauty beyond your reach

The flames within glow green with envy.

A good poetic description of the sin of envy. Nothing good can come from this trait........ thanks for the needed reminder M.E,M.

  • Nicholas Browning

To envy is to aspire for what belongs to another. That's why it's considered a sin. You could have what someone else does, but envy implies that you want to steal theirs and possess it for yourself. A nice little read.
The topic of the seven deadly sins is always a neat one.
