Woof, Woof! Fido says 'Walkies'
Yes I know Fido, let's go
It's a pleasant day for it
"But will you (says Fido, a talking dog!)
Be able to cross that bridge when you get to it?
Or will fear grip you, and you have to turn back
Yet again?"
You know 'The White Bridge'
Only a couple of railings
No wire-mesh or anything
But only a small bridge
"You know it", says Fido
You used to cross it years ago
You know that day you asked for help
A couple said 'But you might not be able
To get back again, when we're gone on our way'
Then you'll have a huge detour to make
Whether I curse or bless that bridge
Woof! Says Fido
When we get to that bridge
Let's cross it - as they say in life too
Well, I see people crossing it
Not even holding to the railings
Even other Fidos cross it with ease
A small bridge, but quite arched
Arghh, will I fall in the river?
Oh no, I feel dizzy now!
But I did conquer it years ago
Crossed it to get to see the Lock nearby
Woof! Says Fido
"It's also called Milkmaid's Bridge
As there is a Mill nearby
Milkmaids crossed it in years of old
Milking thee cows in fields over the bridge
Then returning to the Mill"
Let's have a try, Fido
I know you can cross it with ease.....
It's not as though we're crossing
Any of the bridges in the clip!

Great fun - good job Colapsi Berles wasn't around.
Thanks Michael. Oh dear, I didn't cross that bridge today! Bram Berles attacked me again.

I really enjoyed this poetic post orchidee... a little fear, if left unchecked can go a long way... confronting a specific fear provoking situation, circumstance or event and staying with it until anxiety subsides is a n effective way of overcoming such fears.. we call it flooding.... N
Thanks Neville. I was afraid of another sort of flooding too - falling in the river. As you see, I never crossed that bridge when I came to it. Doh! I wouldn't have fell in, but the bridge seemed so high, an no much wire-netting to it, etc. I got over it in, up to my teenage days. Same as living 14 floors up in a flat. Would hate it these days. Not the height, but the trapped feeling.
not uncommon tho am sure you know others with similar dislikes or fears... I was once frightened silly when climbing down from the top of Sigiria in Sri Lanka with my wife and kids.. check it out on Google
I got up the steps of the bridge, after thinking two dogs were about to chase me off - but they went swimming! Then I turned back, and did not cross the water.
you sure they weren't ducks, or fish or summat..
Nope lol. I thought they were guard-dogs from a distance, as I tried going down a semi-private lane - two collies, not bothered about the bridge, but went for a swim.
sure they were not dog fish, or young dogs, porpoise maybe.. and why should you be scared of a couple of vegetables ....
Things we fearlessly explore as younglings, succumbs to fear as we lose our innocence
Thanks Suresh.
Thanks UNCLE STEVE ~ I love hairy Bridges and have used some in New Zealand and the Millenium Bridge before it was stabilised ! Dogs are UNIVIVA and only have ONE LIFE and are therefor more suseptible to DANGER than HIMANS who are BIVIVA ! Cats are NOVAVIVA and show no fear. Near us a cat fell from an 18th floor in a high rise and twisted & turned in midair and landed on all fours and ran off unscathed ! Previously a DOG had fallen from the 15th and was squashed & dead & flat ! The MANTRA is "Listen to your DOG ~ But never follow your CAT !" The second is ~ "When you are senile ~ never try to recross the Bridges ~ You crossed in Your PRIME !"
Thanks for sharing ~ BLESSINGS
Yours BRIAN 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡
Thanks B&A. Doh, it's my fault, for saying I'm REALLY old!
