You a chosen generation
And a holy nation
A royal priesthood too you be
God's special people, see
That you should show forth the praises

The praises of God who has you
Called unto Him anew
He has called you out of darkness
His great name you confess
Brought into His marvellous light
Given spiritual sight
You who in times past, you were not
A people, that your lot
But now you are the people sure
Of God for evermore
You had not obtained mercy, yet
Stay not you in regret
For now you have of His mercy
