Thirsty Tones

orchidee

Tune: Abridge

('Be thou my guardian and my guide')

Psalm 63

*********

O God, you are my God, early

Will I seek you, so be

My soul thirsts for you, my flesh longs

For you, theme of my songs

Longs for you in dry, thirsty land

O guide me with your hand

A land wherein no water is

My soul is dry as this

I long to see your power here

And your glory too, near

To see it as I have seen in

Your sanctuary, no sin

Because your lovingkindness be

Better than life to me

My lips shall praise you and adore

And I bless you e'ermore

I will lift up my hands, them lift

In your name, and each gift

That you have given, I thanks give

You provide, and we live

My soul it shall be satisfied

With what you do provide

My mouth shall praise you joyfully

You ever my God be
