What a load of spheroids!
Banter should not be allowed
Not be allowed in the classroom,
That’s what the paper said.
Some person said it is wrong
To have banter between teacher and pupil.
Has life at school changed that much?
It may have done,
As it is over half a century
Since I went to school.
Banter is important in life,
As you only banter
With people that you respect,
That respect is essential in our lives.
Banter can relieve the tension
That permeates our being,
Banter can make you smile,
It can even make you laugh,
And laughter is a great healer.
So banter on people,
Banter on.

Yes banter in jest, within the boundaries of respect, but freely, frivolously. Freedom to express allows for greater enhancement
It surely does Suresh.
You cads, you bounders, you.... - woof! Fido interrupted my rant. You lot stopping that bantering, I mean.
One school won't have bottles of water on desks. I had a hellish first-year at secondary school. Initiation of being thrown in the holly bush, etc.Well, the kids won't die of thirst.
Always dodgy to have cups of tea/coffee near I.T. equipment too.
So called experts are not necessarily experts, after all.. some it would seem are fools... bring it on, I say.. banter that is... Am glad you brought this ridiculous notion to my attention sir.. N
I agree with you IF banter is what you and i grew up with and regard as the meaning of the word.
However, along with discipline being FORBIDDEN in the class room, respect has gone out of the window in the world of many pupils and therefore todays banter can be a totally different animal to our understanding.
If the whole of UK were to agree with this 'educational expert' then, in the real world, it would make not one jot of difference because there is no way to enforce ANY rules in a school devoid of any discipline.
As i recall it, one of the first rulings we accepted from the EEC was that parent would no longer be able to physically discipline their offspring. In view of what that alone has done to our classrooms and society in general is it any wonder that the nation voted brexit?
Rant over.
You are probably true d a, the world has changed and not necessarily for the better.
I second that my dear friend Goldy - -whatever has happened to smiles banter brings ? School should be a place where children are taught the essentials in life and laughter is one of the most important...........
Thank you Fay, yes banter can be so important in life.
So very true my friend although like all things in life there is a balance to this as it can soon turn to just taking the piss!
But I really like it
Much peace and respect
