April
Daffodils holding tete a tetes,
Swaying gently in light breeze,
Crocus beds at last in bloom,
Snowdrops sadly in retrest,
Hawthorn trees in bud,
the birds are in full song,
April please stay awhile,
Provide the love of early spring,
Male pheasants in full plumage strut,
Majestic in lush new green fields,
The blossom of flowering cherry trees,
Float like confetti in one's hair,
Amidst newborn lambs I stroll,
Lost in my secret dream,
April oh please don't go,
Cos you know you are my spring,
The Vision of the rolling hills,
Leafy lanes and flowered dales,
Purple spring heather in profusion,
Give warmth, attraction like the sun,
On wild moors horse and ponies run,
With yet unbroken thoughts,
April Why did you go,
You know, you'll always be my spring.
