Are my abandonment issues because you were never there?

The technical definition of abandonment is deserted

and you were just never there.

I didn’t see your back leave in the horizon

I didn’t experience your love and one day you were just gone

you were simply never there.

I didn’t know how it was not to have you

I didn’t know how it was not to feel

would’ve I rather have you beside me

now that I know you, absolutely not.

But if I knew you back then

did I want you

was it bad enough to make a scar

a scar that apparently would haunt me for ages

bleed into everything I dove into

make a difference in every decision I made.
