Rise Up

The day was long, the nightmares came,

My thoughts were touched by mental pain,

Disturbance, annoyance and irritation,

Did each incur my consternation.

I thought my mood would not improve,

This lonely cloud would cease to move;

But there's something in your speech alone

That always makes me feel at home.

The gentle touch of sweetened voice

Is enough to make my heart rejoice,

Envisioning you here, beside me,

This loneliness will cease to be.

The day which was longing to be done,

Was cured long after the setting sun,

My heart is filled again with joy -

Just talking to my beloved boy.

    Words to a loved one can lift the darkness from your soul.

    I think you have found the cure. That one vision gave you joy, now how to stretch that moment of joy so the pain is in retreat forever.
