Light And The Spirit

Tune: Sine Nomine

('For all the saints')

Ephesians 5 v.13-21

*******

All things are reproved, manifest by light

They not hidden, but revealed to our sight

O shine on us Lord, more of your beams bright

Alleluia, Alleluia!

For it is written, Awake you that sleep

And arise from the dead, not slumber, sleep

And Christ shall give you light, you be His sheep

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Live not foolishly, but do live wisely

Taking steps and walking circumspectly

So God's children, sons, daughters, you shall be

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Redeem the time, for the days are evil

Be not unwise, but o know God's good will

And spiritual understanding have still

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Be not drunk with wine, but be filled within

With the Spirit, and with hearts cleansed from sin

Holding on to faith too through thick and thin

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Speak to yourselves in hymns, spiritual songs

Make melody in your hearts all life long

To the Lord, joining with the heavenly throng

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Giving thanks always for all things unto

God and the Father, gratefulness renew

In the Lord Jesus Christ's name, even you

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Submitting yourselves to one another

Humbly unto each sister and brother

In the fear of God fresh grace discover

Alleluia, Alleluia!
