Tune: St Cuthbert
('Our blest Redeemer, ere He breathed')
Matthew 11 v.28-30
********
Come unto me, our Lord did say
All who labour this day
And who are heavy laden, rest
He gives, we blest
Labour and toil of spirit, soul
Or body, take their toll
But rest a while, His peace receive
And true believe
Take my yoke upon you, and learn
Of me, and so discern
My will, my way, my purpose sure
For evermore
For I am meek, gentle. lowly
This my heart to you be
Come to me, you shall find rest to
Your souls anew
For my yoke is easy, come take
And wear it for my sake
And my burden is light, and you
May bear it too

Thanks B&A.
a change is as good as a rest they say
Thanks Neville. I get millions of request to stop singing, but I completely ignore them all! lol.
Another fine read Orchi - rest after labour is needed by all ages;
Thanks Fay - especially when one is millions of years old, like me?! So I say. lol.
That burden is a bit onerous in my life at the moment Orchi. A good write though.
Thanks Gold. Hopefully you can find rest. We might think first of all of rest from work (bodily rest), though it includes rest for our souls and spirits also.
