- Comment from author about the poem: My dad just abandoned my brother, mom, and I without saying goodbye didn't tell us why he wanted to leave never talked to us never made us understand why he would do this to us or why he would do this to his kids left his kids in despair and broke us and we don't know how to pick ourselves up or put ourselves back together.
