We're all needed

Poetic Dan

They say detoxing can be good
Not from my neck of the woods

For this world entails opening of doors
Where fears are locked under the floor

Never to leave but some do escape
Unknown to us in an unconscious state

Denial will cover all over this place
If we're not conscious of its face

Sobriety is something truly unknown
In a stream of soul wandering home

All singing together to become one
Reassuring us nothing is ever gone

So live it up all that you want to do
But never lose track of the inner you

We are all needed to heal our wounds

  • Comment from author about the poem: I'm slowly learning to do longer that 12 hours! But at the end of the day, as long as you are good then each to their own medicine. Just make sure that's want your doing with it and not making it worse, most of all have fun ;)

Boo hoo! I never have any fun, or 'live it up'. Me pesky watchdog, Fido, barks at me, the first chance I get of anything exciting! heehee.
He reads the saucy poems on here you know - a dog that reads. Oh yes! lol.

If only we all had a Fido!

What am I doing? Fido should be on telly. A reading dog! I could make millions. lol

Ooooppss, i'm imagining a boozey Dan singing as he trudges home.
In such a state the inner you could be Guinness,... now who would want to lose track of that? So long as you keep it inside and dont have an accidental.... puke.... oooppsss too late!.... what a waste of good hard earned cash.... oh, it wasn't your round ... a freebie, well who cares then ...." show me the way to go home, i'm tired and etc etc"

Brilliant my friend and how I remember those day but for a very long time I've not been in a drunken daze, my art is to herbalise although ofter things like shrooms can be mixed. But definitely all ending with your perfect melody

I heard on Radio 4 yesterday that they have de-criminalised magic mushroom in connecticut USA. De-criminalised means you cant be sent to jail in USA but apparently it's still not legal.... how stupid is that? Connecticut is one of the places where marijuana is de-criminalised too. No interest to me though, haven't used the stuff for ages and ages.

Yes one day I know it will all be long gone behind me but for now I'll use what I need to and definitely not what they offer or have available in nearly every shop 😉

Only thing not needed is my singing, but it never stops - can't be helped! lol.

More than you will ever know so keep singing all you know!

The hardest step is wanting -----
                  wanting to detoxify
                  You HAVE crossed that bridge,

                  • Poetic Dan

                    So very true my friend
                    Always appreciated

How many of us have experienced a drunkeness that in the morning your're either in a police cell, a secure unit or hospital and the best bit about all that is you can't remember what the heck happened. I spent my 20's working abroad, earning good money and whooping it right up till the sky fell on my head. Had to get out of there in the end. Wen't back to England and calmed down a bit. Your poem ignites many, many memories and of memories not being able to remember them, Knees up a boozy well done.

So very true my friend I glad your sea calmed down otherwise you'd drown. I was just 3 more poems away to get your own my friend, the title sounds like my cuppa tea!

                      Always appreciate a knees up
                      Much peace and respect
                      With a little whisky 😉

That inner you is healing day by day Dan and before very long that process will be complete and freedom into your new world will be complete.
