THE SKY was BLUE when we entered FOREST
We had an objective to map INSECTS
And small MAMMALS ~ it was so unexplored
But we knew the RAINFOREST was endangered !

This is not a personal account ~ It is based on a TV
programme I watched ! I have carried out ECOLOGICAL
PROJECTS and it all indicates Planet Earth is in Danger !
This POEM is presented as a BLANK VERSE PANTOUM ~ OK
Each line is in Iambic Pentameter to give it flow. Each verse
is a balanced QUATRAIN (four lines) The srtucture is :
Lines 2 & 4 in Q 1. become lines 1 & 3 in Q 2. and so on.
In the final QUATRIAN (Q 5.) line 3 of Q 1. becomes line 2
and line 1 of Q 1. becomes line 4. Consequently the POEM
begins and ends with the same line ! Repetition is very
important in Classical Poetry ~ Yours A & B 🧡🧡🧡

Did the forest need to be visited? Did the insects need to be recorded? If the answer is yes so that we could record their demise as mankind ruins the planet then thousands of dollars were spent in madness - yet again.
Thousands of dollars would have been better spent leaving all alone and concentrating on stopping mankind from interfering with the overall environment.
Thanks for your comment DUSK ~ The answer is YES. Because of climate change Ecologists do need to moniter Rainforests ~ Deserts ~ The Oceans etc to see how species are faring ! The Rainforests are exploited for Wood Such as MAHOGANY etc. Because there is a demand there will always be a supply. Climate Change is taking place because YOU & I are driving a CAR ~ Raising a Family ~ Buying imported food ~ Flying etc. We all need to be GREENER. The problem starts with everyone in the Developed World and we are the ones who can reduce CO2 emissions ~ deforestation ~ carbon footprint etc. Thanks for your comment

Homo sapiens is destroying our world and those in power who can do something about it do not care in case they lose some power or money.
THANKS UNCLE ANDY ~ The problem arose when we ceased to be HUNTER GATHERERS and became HOMO URBANUS and were no longer part of the FOOD CHAIN ! Commercialism & Technology resulted ina SYSTEM where MAN was both exploiting and polluting the ENVIRONMENT of the Whole Earth. The majority of People are unaware of the GLOBAL impact of their day to day activities ~ and that by 2100 many parts of Planet Earth could be uninhabitable due to Global Warming ~ Sea level rise etc ! The GAIA states that PLANET EARTH is a living equilibrium system. When that EQUILIBRIUM is disturbed (by increased Atmospheric CO2 etc) It responds by increased temperature ~ typhoons ~ hurricanes ~ melting icecaps etc. Ultimately (2500 ?) the Earth will be uninhabitable for H Sapiens ~ AND ~ there is nowhere else in the SOLAR SYSTEM or the MILKY WAY to GO ! Ive been preacing this for the last 15 years (since I was 20) ~ We are only just beginning to wake up and face the FACTS ! Thanks for your comment !
