One More Chance

daydreaming

I got up this morning feeling
A new chapter is about to start
My life is far from over
So why dwell in the past?

There is something different in the air
I cannot explain exactly what
But now I'm alone once again
Many possibilities come to mind.

It’s about time I discover
How the decisions I make today
May impact the rest of my life
These are critical days ahead of me
My maturity needs to shine.

I have always given all of me
Not thinking about what I need or want
This has not worked well for me
'Cause when it's over, I fall apart.

This time things will be different
I can’t afford to waste more time
I must think of myself as someone
Worthy of love and happiness for once.

I'm leaving the door open
Though just a window will suffice
I welcome a fresh cool gentle breeze
To erase those sad memories from my past.

I am blessed with some good qualities
Not everything about me is bad
I'll enjoy the life ahead of me
It’s the only chance I've got
Because there’re people and places
I am pushing myself to find.

And as I make room for new experiences
Who knows, maybe I'll be blessed to find
The one who'll spark in me a desire
Someone who'll care for me at last.

Ah, but when you fell apart, it mirrored the reflection of your whole worl falling into place. I adore this poem. I has an beautiful undercurrent for the devotion of your feeling towards being wanted and loved. This resonates around the world in every second for people who try to master it. Graet work.

Thank you for reading my poem and taking the time to figure out what it means. I only wish that I knew these things and felt this way much sooner. But again, I would not be who I am today had I not navigated through my good and bad experiences.

I like who I am today. With that said I consider the mistakes I've made a necessary part of my personal development. I hope I make sense.

In life there are many obstacles put in our way, once these have been overcome they become experience, something which cannot be taught, with each experience we become stronger within ourselves and are able to move on in life is a more positive way. Good write.

Thank you for your comment. Experiences shape our character. I just wish I had the wisdom to make decisions before facing the consequences. I could have avoided a lot of grief by listening and internalizing the experience of others!
