WHAT DO WE NEED to survive
On a DESERT ISLAND ~ keepin* alive ?
A MACHETE for choppin* up & down trees
A TENT to protect from the tropical breeze
A SLEEPIN* BAG ~ so at night you dont freeze !
MATCHES & LIGHTER ~ to make the nights brighter
Rubbin* sticks is a tryer ~ but it sure dont make Fire !
A FISHIN* NET ~ for catchin* us Supper
A MOBILE PHONE ~ for textin* me Mudder !
A MIRROR ~ for sendin* signals with Sun
A HAMMOCK ~ for chillin* when the days work is done !
A SAUCE PAN ~ for cookin* whatever weve caught
AND A COMPASS to tell us the SOUTH from the NORTH !
PRAY & keep fit ~ You must just survive ~ with all this KIT !

Thanks UNCLE STEVE : There are lots of uninhabited Islands in the Antipodes ! Si one capsizes saling off NZ one could easily end up on one ! BRIAN was a SCOUTt and I was a GUIDE so we have been on survival exercises and could cope. The three main requirements are Water - Food & Shelter.

Thanks UNCLE MIKE ~ The cell phone has an integral Solar Charger ~ OK. By the same token the CD player for Desert Island Discs is solar powered ! A solar powered MICROWAVE would also be handy ! One ends up GLAMPING instead of jusr surviving ~ AMEN

Must have me books and they weight a load - most of 'em of course are devoted to poetry......... great read again you two and love the steel band.
Thanks FAY ~ A bit of a departure for us but we love Steel Bands and wrote the Poem to include *Island in the SUN* ! Most of our Poems (unless they are personal ~ like tomorrows ABUELA) are collaborations ! The questionairre was about SURVIVAL and 95% of the UK population could live without BOOKS but not you or us ! On DESERT ISLAND DISCS they always get A GIDEON BIBLE (AMEN) and one other BOOK !
